Job Summary:

As the Assistant Controller at Capitol City Electric, you will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting, leading month-end close, budgeting & forecasting, job costing and compliance. This position has broad responsibility and is a unique opportunity to participate in various accounting and finance functions.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Accounting and Financial Management
· Manage month-end close activities efficiently, including preparing and/or reviewing general ledger entries and reconciliations.
· Assist with job cost review, including discussions with Project Managers and WIP schedule preparation.
· Prepare monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
· Assist in the implementation and management of the annual budget process.
· Prepare and/or review monthly and annual financial reporting packages, ensuring discrepancies against budget or historical trends are analyzed, explained, and documented.
· Ensure proper processes and procedures are in place to maintain a strong internal control environment.
2. Special Projects and Cross-Functional Collaboration
· Work on special projects and provide support to senior management as needed.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement and resolve issues.
· Assist with company-wide technology implementations to help reduce costs and drive efficiencies.
3. Review, Tax, and Compliance Support
· Support tax, review, and examination processes, including the preparation of reviewed financial statements

Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field.

CPA certification preferred.

5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including Construction related experience.

Experience with percentage of completion accounting preferred.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with office management software.

Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
